CEDERNA-GARALUR acts in the Mountains of Navarre, an extensive territory covering the northern half of the Autonomous Community of Navarre. It has an extension 4,900 km2, a population of 80,000 inhabitants, 126 municipalities and 100 kms. the border with France.

A land of contrasts and a rich heritage, noteworthy for having a strong identity of its own, shaped over the centuries by the diversity of valleys, regions and watersheds that comprise: Valleys of Roncal-Salazar, Aezkoa, Erro, Esteribar; cantabrian regions of the Bidasoa, Baztan, Leitzaran, Larraun, Ultzama and Sakana; and pre-pyrenean basin of Aoiz, Lumbier, Sangüesa.

The business sector is very fragmented, formed mostly by self-employed persons and SMES (small and medium-sized enterprises), mainly concentrated in the counties cantábricas. In recent years, the improvement of infrastructure and local development policies has driven the growth of the primary sector, especially the agri-food sector, is also associated to the transformation of the local product.

However, the economic sectors with more weight are the construction, transportation and logistics, and especially the services sector as a local trade and, above all, tourism services, in which private initiative have taken advantage of the local heritage to offer a wide range of accommodation, catering, leisure and quality of life, taking as a hallmark of product quality.
